My warm greetings and good wishes to you all! It gives me immense pleasure to introduce BUP that emerged in the tranquil panoramic educational village of Mirpur on June 5, 2008 with the motto "Excellence Through Knowledge". Besides its ten well reputed affiliated colleges/institutions, the university has five faculties. BUP offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different disciplines like security and strategic studies, general studies, engineering & technical studies and medical sciences. The Faculty of Business Studies conducts MBA and BBA programs. Recently, BUP commenced M Phil and Doctoral program while its Language Centre launched Diploma in Chinese and Burmese Language. Master's Programs in Nuclear Science and Engineering (NSE), Disaster and Human Security Management, Peace and Human Rights and Undergraduate program in Tourism and Hospitality Management shall be offered soon.

We at BUP are fully aware that the 21st century requires rigorous and imaginative education and training to 'see through fogs of uncertainty' and to 'think differently' for identifying the problems and innovative solutions. The university intends to create conducive environments for the students, scholars, professionals and the faculties for stimulating their minds to excel in their fields of activities, studies, training and research. It remains committed to produce able leaders- both 'thinkers' and 'doers' as it believes in the magical power of leadership in shaping the future. We want to see our students glitter with ambiance of knowledge and beam with joy and glories of their application. To produce worthy professionals and good citizens, BUP stresses on instilling human values, virtues, patriotism and discipline in thoughts and actions. These are but few of the defining hallmark features of BUP that distinguish it from other universities of Bangladesh.

Here, I would like to remember our founders with gratitude for their noble vision and inexorable dedication to set BUP on a solid foundation. We are also profusely indebted to the Honorable President and the Chancellor, the Honorable Prime Minister, respected Minister of Education for their generous guidance and patronage. Our thanks and gratitude to the Security and Defence Advisor to the Honorable Prime Minister, the Chairman (State Minister) of University Grants Commission (UGC) and three Services Chiefs for their kind cooperation and support. We also appreciate the parents/guardians for placing their trust and confidence on BUP to train and educate their children and wards.
