BUP Flower Festival-2020

Environmental Club of BUP (EnCBUP) organized “BUP Flower Festival -2020” on 02 February for the first time, with a view to spread the color of flowers among all. The aim of this fest was to introduce people with different flowers, native flowers of Bangladesh, and encourage them to enhance afforestation practices around the premises of house. Different segments of this fest was arranged in such a way so that participants can learn and share their thoughts and ideas with all. The day commenced with a tree plantation program at BUP west campus. Vice Chancellor, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Dean of faculty of Science and Technology and other officers took part in tree plantation program. Copper pod, Royal Poinciana, Dypsis lutescens etc. trees were planted. To promote the idea of keeping the surroundings clean,  a cleaning campaign was held in BUP at the end. A workshop was also arranged on the topic “Rooftop Gardening”, conducted by Mr. Ahsan Rony, founder of Green Savers. Students were encouraged to come up with different types of ideas of conserving native flower plants. There was also a quiz segment for the participants regarding recent environmental issues.   

The other segments were herbarium exhibition and photography exhibition. Flower exhibition along with real flowering plants and photographs allowed students to be more involved and aware of the importance of flowers in the ecosystem.  Throughout the event, there was an arrangement of some interesting flower game show which added extra bliss to the program.

Undoubtedly, this festival of flowers created a positive and graceful environment which refreshed everyone’s soul and removed all the sluggishness of their mundane life.
