The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organized a training program on “OBE Implementation, Challenges and Way Forward” on 22 October 2025 at Bijoy Auditorium, BUP. The training aimed to enhance the understanding of faculty members on Outcome Based Education (OBE), accreditation processes, and effective implementation strategies within higher education institutions. The resource person for the program was Professor Arshad M. Chowdhury, PhD, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean of the EEE Department and Director IQAC of BRAC University. The event commenced at 0845 hours with a Welcome Address delivered by Brigadier General Md Rabbi Ahsan, ndc, psc, Registrar of BUP. The inaugural session was followed by an in-depth discussion on Accreditation Process, Requirements of BAC Accreditation & How to Achieve BAC Accreditation by resource person. In addition the resource person elaborated on BAC Accreditation Standards, the UGC OBE Curriculum Format, OBE Teaching-Learning Assessment, and OBE Course File Management. His session emphasized the importance of aligning curriculum design and assessment strategies with outcome-based educational frameworks to ensure quality assurance in higher education. The program concluded with an OBE Hands-on Session conducted by the resource person, followed by an engaging Question & Answer Session that allowed participants to clarify their queries regarding OBE implementation. The training successfully conducted for Deans, department chairmen, faculty members of BUP regarding the practical aspects of OBE, accreditation standards, and continuous quality improvement processes. It reaffirmed BUP’s commitment to ensuring quality education through structured, outcome-oriented academic practices. Following the technical sessions, Captain Mahbubur Rashid, (L), psc, BN, Director of IQAC, BUP, delivered a speech on the Importance of Accreditation and the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF). He highlighted the necessity of accreditation in maintaining academic excellence and institutional accountability. The whole program was moderated by Lt Col Mohammad Emdadul Hoque, psc, Additional Director, IQAC, BUP.
