BUP Organises Class on "Migration Governance as a National Security Instrument in Bangladesh"

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organised a special class titled "Migration Governance as a National Security Instrument in Bangladesh" on 06 August 2026 at the Shadhinota Auditorium. The initiative aimed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of faculty members, students, and officials on migration governance and its significance as an instrument of national security.

The session was conducted by Brigadier General A K M Shamsul Islam, psc, G, PhD (Retd), Adviser, Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Division, Prime Minister's Office. In his presentation, he highlighted the security implications of migration, the vulnerabilities associated with irregular migration, and policy recommendations for ensuring effective migration governance in Bangladesh.

The programme was attended by Vice-Chancellor of BUP Major General Md. Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, military officers, faculty members from different faculties, and students. The event featured a question-and-answer session followed by an interactive discussion with military officers, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas and deepen their understanding of the topic.

The programme reflects BUP's continued commitment to promoting awareness and academic discourse on contemporary national security issues through knowledge-sharing initiatives.
