Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has achieved remarkable success and garnered widespread national appreciation following its participation in the highly reputed "Bangladesh Innovation Fair 2026." The university delegation proudly showcased groundbreaking, student-led technological and sustainable prototypes at this major government-level exhibition. This massive initiative was executed under the overall supervision of Brigadier General Md Amiul Akbar Khan, awc, afwc, psc, MPhil, Dean of the Faculty of the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS).

The BUP pavilion featured five exceptional projects, brilliantly presented by dedicated student teams:

  • Project SHUNNO: Led by Akil Ahmed, this project addresses the global plastic crisis by transforming agricultural waste (specifically sugarcane bagasse) into 100% biodegradable plates, cups, and eco-friendly products.
  • Project Ecolery Bangladesh: The team comprising Nafesa Anzum Helaly, Yeamin Islam Tabin, and Shabiha Sultana Nuha developed innovative edible and plant-based cutlery, providing a highly practical and sustainable alternative to single-use plastics.
  • Project AgroBot: Developed by Nobo Ishraque, Md. Rasheduzzaman Imran, Mutasim Billah, and Md. Amdadul Haque, this project introduced an AI-driven autonomous smart robot capable of detecting crop diseases and automatically applying targeted pesticides in agricultural fields.
  • Project Tylus: Led by Md Rafiul Islam, alongside Maysha Samiha Eshika and Sabikun Nahar, the team produced highly durable, eco-friendly construction tiles by repurposing post-consumer plastic waste and industrial fly ash.
  • Project HemoID: The team of Fairuz Anika Authoi, Anika Afrida, and Azmain Faik presented a smart, compact vein detection and mapping system designed to simplify complex medical procedures and enhance biosecurity.

These phenomenal initiatives unlocked massive investment and corporate collaboration opportunities. Deeply impressed by the student prototypes, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahboob Hossain from BRAC University pledged his utmost support to help secure a fund for the 'Ecolery' and 'SHUNNO' projects. In the agricultural sector, prominent industrial entities like Karnafully Group and Best Corporation proposed industrial deployment and field-level collaboration for 'AgroBot'.

Furthermore, Max Waily Khan Chowdhury of Max Motel & Real Estate Company expressed strong interest in bulk purchasing 'Tylus' eco-friendly tiles for future architectural applications. Urban Craft proposed significant funding for 'Ecolery', while the Registrar of AAUB, Air Cdre Md Sajjad Hossain, proposed procuring the edible cutlery for their institutional meetings and events. Prominent institutions including TÜV Rheinland, Mutual Trust Bank (MTB), and Agrani Bank also stepped forward to offer analytical testing, digital banking support, and financial partnerships.

The BUP pavilion witnessed a massive influx of visitors throughout the fair. High-profile dignitaries, including PMO Adviser Mahadi Hasan, the Secretary and Additional Secretaries of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Director General of Novotheatre, and various university vice-chancellors, visited the stalls and highly commended BUP’s technology-driven initiatives. Additionally, the students' creativity was widely praised by top-tier national television networks and prominent newspapers, including Channel i, RTV, Channel 24, Bijoy TV, Desh TV, Prothom Alo, Kalbela, and Dhara News.

Successfully presenting their prototypes on such a prominent stage has immensely encouraged the participating students and deeply motivated others across the campus to confidently pursue practical innovations. Ensuring the strategic alignment of this endeavor, S.K. Md. Anik Hassan Rabby, Lecturer of the Department of Management Studies, played a crucial role as the University Focal Point. Furthermore, the entire exhibition, logistics, and successful operations were expertly coordinated by Major Md Razib Jahan, psc, Inf, FBS dean office. Finally, BUP's participation created a powerful national impression, proving its excellence in fostering impact-driven, research-based, and sustainable innovations.
