Biography
Md.Faruk Hossain is a committed and resourceful professional who has demonstrated excellence in academic administration, financial management, and institutional quality assurance. He is currently serving as an Assistant Director at the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. Through his dedication, sincerity, and professionalism, he has contributed significantly to the enhancement of institutional quality, coordination of academic programs, and the organization of various workshops, seminars, and events that promote a culture of continuous improvement in higher education.
Faruk began his professional journey with the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) as an Accounts and Finance Officer under its IQAC project, where he developed his expertise in financial documentation, budget preparation, and procurement management. Later, he joined The City Bank PLC, one of the leading private commercial banks in Bangladesh, where he served in the Operations and Service Delivery Department. During this period, he gained valuable experience in customer data management, KYC verification, and banking compliance through the use of Finacle software. His attention to detail, accuracy, and strong sense of responsibility enabled him to uphold customer satisfaction and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
In February 2018, Faruk joined the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) as an Office Manager in the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). Over the years, he played a key role in managing documentation, administrative communication, and financial reporting for the IQAC. His ability to plan and organize institutional events, coordinate training and workshops, and maintain strong relations with senior faculty members and external stakeholders marked his tenure with distinction. In recognition of his consistent performance and professional growth, he was promoted to Assistant Director in March 2025. In this role, he continues to contribute to the university’s mission of ensuring academic excellence, transparency, and good governance.
Academically, Md. Faruk Hossain possesses a good educational background. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) in 2017, majoring in Finance and completed his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting and Finance from BRAC University in 2013. Prior to that, he obtained his Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) from Notre Dame College and Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C.) from Khilgaon Government Staff Quarter High School, both securing GPA 5.00. Recently, in 2023, he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphics Design from United International University, which reflects his adaptability and commitment to lifelong learning.
Throughout his career, Faruk has attended numerous professional training programs that have strengthened his technical and managerial competencies. Notable among these is the 25-day Officers’ Foundation Training at Bangladesh Agricultural University, D-Nothi Training and Public Procurement Training under BUP and UGC, and the Banking Foundation Training jointly conducted by The City Bank PLC and the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM). He has also received training in Microsoft Excel, professional skill development, and project completion reporting, which have enriched his knowledge and enhanced his ability to handle diverse administrative and operational tasks efficiently.
Faruk possesses a wide range of technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SPSS, Finacle, and IFS software, as well as advanced graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe XD.
In recognition of his discipline and commitment, Faruk received a 100% Attendance Certificate from Notre Dame College and earned Vice-Chancellor and Dean’s Certificates from BRAC University for his academic achievements. His professional journey is characterized by continuous learning, self-development, and a drive to serve the nation through education and institutional excellence.
