Field Visit to BIPSOT by the Department of PCHR for Batch 2023 Students

09 Jun 2026

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, students from the 2023 batch of the Peace, Conflict, and Human Rights department undertook an insightful field visit to the Bangladesh Institute of Peace Support Operation Training (BIPSOT) as part of their PCH 3629: United Nations Peace Operations course. The visit offered a vital opportunity for the students and accompanying faculty members to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application by acquiring practical knowledge of BIPSOT’s overall functions. During the session, students closely observed the institute's state-of-the-art peacekeepers' training facilities and specific modes of training. Furthermore, they gained comprehensive insights into the national and international rules, regulations, and procedural frameworks governing these missions, including strict ethical standards and the operational challenges faced during training. Ultimately, this experiential learning tour successfully deepened the students' understanding of the complex realities inherent in global peace support initiatives.
