As a continuation of his earlier initiatives aimed at fostering the academic, personal, and ethical development of students, the Respected Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies conducted an interactive session with the students, faculty members, and officials of the Department of Finance and Banking on 6 September 2026. The session focused on ethical learning, discipline, social responsibility, academic development, and the role of students as responsible citizens of the country.

In his earlier interaction with the students, the Dean emphasized the importance of knowledge, hard work, discipline, leadership, honesty, and meaningful contribution to society. He encouraged students to look beyond conventional measures of success and develop themselves as individuals who can create a positive and lasting impact. He also discussed the harmful effects of drug abuse and unethical means of earning, highlighting the importance of integrity and responsible conduct in personal and professional life.

Building on these themes, the Dean particularly emphasized the importance of ethical learning in the latest session. He reminded the students that higher education is made possible through the collective contribution of society, and therefore, educated individuals have a responsibility to ensure that their knowledge and abilities are used for the benefit of society rather than causing harm. Referring to the serious issue of loan default in Bangladesh, he noted that such practices are not simply the result of a lack of education; rather, highly educated individuals can also be involved in unethical financial practices. As future finance professionals, he urged the students to uphold ethical standards, remain grateful to the country and its people, and contribute to protecting the financial system from such harmful practices.

The Dean also encouraged students to take greater responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and discipline across the expanding BUP campus. He highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in preserving a clean, healthy, and welcoming academic environment. He further shared practical examples of how drug abuse can destroy individuals, families, and society, and clearly stated that BUP authorities will maintain a firm stance against any involvement with drugs.

Emphasizing the value of discipline in professional life, the Dean explained that the discipline cultivated at BUP is one of the important factors contributing to the success of its graduates in campus recruitment and employment opportunities. He encouraged students to make the best use of their time at the university by developing academic knowledge, professional skills, and personal integrity.

During the interactive segment, the Dean randomly engaged students by asking about their academic experiences, future plans, and career aspirations. Two students were selected for recognition based on their responses and engagement, making the session both motivating and participatory.

The session concluded on a deeply emotional note as the Dean expressed his profound sadness at the tragic death of Tahmid Alam Shreshtho, a student of the BBA General Program, in a recent accident. His words reflected his deep concern for the students and reaffirmed the importance of creating a safe, disciplined, ethical, and supportive university community.

The session once again reflected the Faculty of Business Studies’ commitment to nurturing students not only as academically capable graduates but also as ethical, disciplined, responsible, and socially conscious individuals.
