The BUP Devthon 5.0 International Interdisciplinary Conference (BDIIC-2024), held on 21 December 2024, centered on the theme “Exploring Cross-Border Synergies in Development: From Local to Global Solutions.” Organized by the Department of Development Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), the conference served as a vibrant platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners from diverse disciplines to engage in meaningful dialogue and collaborative exploration. A total of 83 research papers were presented, offering rich insights into contemporary development challenges and innovative solutions across borders. The conference featured a keynote address by Dr. Mahbuba Nasreen, Professor and former Director and Co-founder of the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies (IDMVS), University of Dhaka, who shared her profound expertise and perspectives on development and resilience. BDIIC-2024 fostered intellectual exchange, inspired creative thinking, and encouraged both local and global collaborations, reinforcing BUP’s commitment to advancing interdisciplinary research in the development arena.
