Dean’s Interactive Session with the Students of the Department of Business Administration in Management Studies

14 May 2026

On May 14, 2026, the respected Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Brigadier General Md Aminul Akbar Khan, awc, afwc, psc, MPhil, hosted an engaging interactive session for the students of the Department of Business Administration in Management Studies at the Bijoy Auditorium, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). The core message of the event focused on elevating one's life from a mere biological existence to a highly purposeful journey. The Dean emphasized the critical importance of effective time management, strong moral integrity, and a deep sense of civic responsibility.

Highlighting a meaningful difference between the instinct-driven lives of animals and the purpose-driven lives of human beings, the Dean reminded the audience that while creatures are soon forgotten, humans have the unique ability to leave a legacy. He inspired the students to use their intellectual and physical strengths to make active contributions to their families, communities, and the nation. Noting the continuous development of Bangladesh, he encouraged the students to see themselves as the future builders and leaders of the country, guided by knowledge and strong ethics.

Addressing the Management Studies students directly, the Dean highly praised their ongoing professional achievements. He pointed out that management students are currently thriving in the corporate job market and showing remarkable success in competitive recruitment exams. To keep up this excellent performance, he advised them to actively acquire global knowledge and stay updated with international trends. He described university life as the ultimate "preparation phase," motivating students to transform from passive learners into visionary CEOs, dynamic leaders, and innovative professionals ready to lead future national and international ventures.

The Dean also highlighted that true professional success is deeply rooted in personal discipline. He reminded students that following the BUP dress code is more than just an institutional rule, it is a vital part of professional grooming and a true reflection of university pride. Alongside this, he encouraged everyone to take personal responsibility for maintaining the beautiful and clean environment of the campus. He pointed out that a strong civic sense, strict punctuality, and a commitment to cleanliness are essential qualities for anyone aspiring to become a successful corporate leader.

Furthermore, the session addressed several modern challenges that can hinder a student's potential. The Dean strongly warned against over-reliance on smartphones and social media, which often waste valuable time and damage real-life social interactions. Most importantly, he firmly clarified that smoking and drug abuse are never solutions to life's problems, nor do they provide genuine stress relief. Instead, they create a false sense of control that eventually destroys an individual's ability to contribute positively to society. He strongly urged the students to stay completely away from these harmful habits.

In his concluding remarks, the Dean inspired the students to lead lives filled with meaningful goals and ethical actions. He reminded them that history remembers those who make lasting contributions to civilization. By working honestly, maintaining unwavering integrity, and focusing on positive actions, he assured the students that they would not only achieve great personal success but also leave a remarkable impact on society.
