Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the CFA Institute Research Challenge Bangladesh 2025–26. Behind this national success, the Department of Finance and Banking has shown outstanding academic excellence and competitive strength.
In the champion team, CRC, one of the key members, Samin Al Fattah (Batch 2022), is a fourth-year student of the Department of Finance and Banking. His contribution played a vital role in securing the national title and earning the opportunity to represent Bangladesh in the South Asian sub-regional round.
Furthermore, the Department’s achievement became even more significant as the second runner-up team (FMV) was comprised entirely of students from the Department of Finance and Banking. The team members — Asirul Amin, Rimon Saha Rim, Tilottama Barua, Tasnim Safwan, and S M Fahim Ahmed — are all fourth-year students of the department. Their strong performance in equity research, financial modelling, valuation analysis, and final presentation reflects the department’s academic discipline and practical orientation.
In this year’s competition, finalist teams conducted in-depth equity research on Robi Axiata PLC and were evaluated equally on their written reports and presentations. The outstanding performance of Finance and Banking students at both champion and second runner-up levels clearly highlights the department’s growing excellence in investment research and financial analysis.
This achievement not only brings pride to the Bangladesh University of Professionals but also firmly establishes the Department of Finance and Banking as a leading contributor to national-level academic and professional competitions in finance.
